Falling Towers

I love the idea of breaking glass,
a cartoon shattering, a dust pan and brush
tinkle-tinkle, sweep, sweep,
long meditations on wind chimes,
watching the footy, an old movie,
passing the popcorn, and kissing you 
through the unconvincing commercials.

I like the visual of dynamited buildings,
Towers falling to the ground, elegantly,
gracefully, shamelessly, whatever - but there is always
a lot of dust, debris, footprints, an occasional casualty,
and ever so many things to do,

and under running feet, a film crew,
trying to take footage of what is not there anymore.

Sweep, sweep, sweep. The broom is behind the door.
