As you draw me in
I lie beside you, facing you on your bed
as we drift off to sleep
you breathe out as I breathe in
your breath feels hot in my mouth.
I let a small whimper escape;
you ask me is something wrong.
I reply, -no.
- everything is perfect, just perfect.
I fall deeper and hope
the sounds of distant sirens wailing
are only in my dreams
and not in reality
where they often cruelly invade
my lonely private life.
