Internet for Him

I went to the Cathedral yesterday evening to attend the feast of St. Paul. The Priest was preaching about so many things that I don'tremember everything he said ( temporary memory loss ) but I do remember his comment about the use of internet.
According to him, youth of today waste so much time accessing the internet that they forget their responsibilities. He sounded like he really disliked the internet at that moment like he would eradicate it completely if he had the power. Young people ( and even older ones I think ) get addicted to the internet. It seems like the trend of today.
I have nothing against the internet. In fact, it is such a useful tool when I have to research for medical subjects, and to connect with friends, etc. I think one has to use the internet wisely. Spend worthy time while accessing it. The internet is after all, the ''thing'' of today. It's the product of the beautiful minds of us humans.
I just dislike young students who cut their classes just to rent computers in internet shops so they can play online games. They use the internet at the expense of their parent's hard-earned money. If they just realize that their parents have to work hard to be able to send them to schools, they will definitely stop their bad habit. If they only realize the value of education, they will go to school and listen to their teachers. If they only know the golden value of time, they will not waste time on the internet.
I assume that most of them are not able to purchase computer sets and internet connections. After all, they go to public schools, which might mean, more or less they can't afford to go to private schools which offer better education. I do not know if I'm becoming judgemental or if this is the reality of it all but this is rapidly becoming the trend for young students studying in public schools ( or even private schools) of the Philippines. Jose Rizal, the Philippine National Hero, once said that the youth is the hope of the country. I can't agree with him less, but how can the youth realize their true potentials and how can they be productive if they use precious time for useless things in the internet?
