i have never gone on a bike with no handles,
i have never been to the beach and worn sandals,
i have never burnt anything but butter and toast,
i have never contributed to a sunday roast.

i have never been in a eighties van,
i have never conducted a robbery plan,
i have never... worn a bright yellow coat,
i have never loved going on a boat.

i have never painted a whole wall before,
i have never passed out on the floor,
i have never revised for a test,
i have never threw stones at a birds nest.

i have never given more than i take,
i have never even used a garden rake,
i have never thought before i act,
i have never got a job and been sacked.

i have never wrote a poem with the same opening,
i have never even thought of doing such a thing,
i have never thought how things can change,
i have never said "THIS IS TOO WEIRD TO EXPLAIN".

Very interesting Nazzy. Made me smile as well. I like the repetition and the energy that this gives the poem. One slight correction - You need to change 'to' to 'too' in the last line. The only other thing I'm not sure on is the 'I have never milked a goat' - it doesn't scan as well as some of the others. Is it too short? Thats just my personal view. I really like 'i have never gone on a bike with no handles, i have never been to the beach and worn sandles,' The whole piece is really refreshing and has a great pace. Is it written to be performed?

yeah i thought the same but couldn't think of a replacement until now. i suppose it could be performed but it was just ment to be different because usually my poems have constant factor and all the lines revolve around it but this has lots of different ideas moulded together in the space of about twenty minutes :)
