Earthed to the Clouds

The road ahead is a never-ending quest. I may have to cross over waters of temptation and fear, and lands of disbelief. As I start my humble beginnings, I pray to the Lord above that He may guide me all through the days when I have to take a leap of faith. I feel the gentle rays of the sun bathe me while I thread the deepest and darkest of waters.
I start walking with pure hope in my heart. Momentarily, my eyes shift to the dark water kissing my feet and the ill creations beneath summon me to stop threading, to immerse myself in sin, to indulge in the unknown below, and to join them at the very bottom of the pit. The water is becoming a quicksand whispering softly into my consciousness. Something evil penetrated my barriers and I sigh in my growing discontent but just when I was about to give in and be swallowed by animated darkness, a gentle voice lightened up what was dark inside me. I am reminded of my greater purpose in life. I will not let the bad side win for I know I do not thread these waters alone, the Lord is with me. I close my eyes and keep on walking. Anchoring myself to my silent prayers, my heartbeat grew faster as I approach the ground.
My ever trembling feet stay rooted to the ground as buds of wings stretch from my arched back. The solid ground hurt my feet as I stepped on sharp stones. The hot surface is threatening me to use my wings and to fly to the sun but just like the ground, my heart is spontaneously burning with the constant choice of eternity. My feet and legs won't give up just yet. Never shall I dare to fly though the ground forces me to fly and to soar higher than I might ever bear. Never will I show off the wings you had lovingly granted. Father, I do want to glorify your name through living accordingly. I will keep my heart buried in utter humility. I will keep on walking on the menacing ground. Father, now I see the sun shinning and the horizon seems close by. Let me honor you as I face my destiny in life. Let me serve you. Let me walk through the roads of evil and temptation. Let me survive all these with a pure heart. Let my preserved wings shine for you as I remain earthed to the ground, and tomorrow oh Lord, I will finally fly to you with a wholehearted smile.
