oh the joy to be a spring onion
bouncing on my spring like a funny un
up and down round and round
and when someone comes, jump back in the ground
and when the coast is clear, back out i pop
in my merry dance of hop hop hop
round the beating sprouts, they kick out a tune all day
then on to baby carrots, oh how they love to play
and mrs rhubarb what voice, when she sings
she has all the beans, running round in rings
mr and mrs carrot, seeing from a glance
the tomatoes limbering, preparing for their dance
the turnips and the swedes, were arguing in lumps
over who would take the parnsip, to the disco at the clumps
now the potatoes did arrive in a most peculiar way
in a rusty tesco trolley, some kids had nicked that day
the wild garlic looking on, she was very shy
she liked the handsome onion, hmmm what a guy
he was chatting up radish, who was putting down his advances
pumpkin came rolling, in one of his usual trances
he's been on the mushrooms again, hollered pea
who was joined by all his pod in smirks and looks of glee
that is daily life down on the vegetable patch
if your quiet and tiptoe youll see when the surface you scratch
