Blue Lady

By Burton St John

Sun, 03 Jan 2010
  • 752 reads

Her paper face blinked in recognition
A thin crooked hand sailed up
But when I reached out it ghosted back
To its spidery companion in her lap

Two uninvolved eyes rolled to one side
She's going away swathed in coats
Curling down, gentle as air
Sailing miles back into a big blue chair
