Chapter 1
She should just stop screaming, it's not like she's still a virgin now; it'll just piss them off more. "Sigh. Newbies".
I'm Arina and I live in a hole. A dark hole. A small hole. A hole with one barred window that lets in no light. A hole with hundreds of other girls, just like me.
She came in crying. "Another newbie." This stuff gets so annoying sometimes. Not that I can't be sympathetic, but still.
"Why do you call them that?"
"Well it's proper isn't it?"
"And how is that?"
"Talem, when you and even I, came to this shithole, we didn't know anything. We were new and if you ask me , wouldn't have been able to survive, if not for each other. That's what newbie's are isn't it? Someone new, entering something they haven't before. Newbies can't figure it out on thier own, they need help or support, just like every new girl that falls in here. Total newbies."
"Okay Arina, whatever. So does that mean your going to help her?"
"Will you?"
I walked over to the new girl.
"Hey!" I tried to sound sweet and peppy. She just stared at me. Who was I kidding? She's new, not a freaking moron. She was underground, in a small dark hole with at least 200 other dirty, smelly girls. Besides, what was I, a freaking welcome commitee? To what, HELL?!
"Sorry," I had to say it. "my name's Arina, Arina
Jacqualine Jones. You?"
Rebecca, Rebecca Hurdwood." She was still crying. I wouldn't blame her; it was her first time.
"How old are you? I'm 16. I think, my birthday is around the beginning of this season, it is spring, right?"
"I'm 13, and yeah, it's spring."
"I can introduce you to some people if you like?"
"No, I just wanna, I wanna....." Crying again. To be honest ir was pissing me off. She's not the only one, does she really think she is? I haven't been outside for months, haven't seen my family for years. She's not the only one. I want to slap her.
"Thirteen. That's a good age."
"What!?" I had to smile, she looked so pissed.
"You know, there are girls younger than you here. Girls 12 and up have to take care of them."
"Oh."
"Shhhhhh!" It was one of the older girls.
"What's going on?" It's like she doesn't know what 'Shh!' means.
"Come on! If you see someone younger than you, grab them and pull them to the back. Quietly!" My whisper seemed so loud in the silence. Rebecca followed me to the back with as many little girls we could. The older women moved to the front like always, and me and Talem close to the back, protecting the little ones, and Rebecca. We could all hear the footsteps getting louder, and you could almost hear the heart pounds as every girl in there held their breath. A latch lifted, A key inserted. Bolt pulled, lock tumbler moved, trigger locked, whispers hushed. He was here.
He walked in. The devil himself, tall, strong and hidden in the darkest of shadows.
"What the hell do you call this?!" He was mad, and we all knew why. We straightened out, perfect rows and lines, enough to see all our grimey faces.
"That's better!" He walked up and down the rows, right down to the younger ones. A real pervert must be up there if he's coming this far down the rows. Even as he walks down the rows, no one can see his face. Actually, most of these girls here have never seen his face; a select few are just as stupid as me though. I saw his face and know exactly what he looks like.
Chapter 2
It was regular, a normal spring day when I first met him. I was walking home. I had to walk because I missed the bus, and I missed the bus because I was being a bitch. In the suburbs where I live, if you don't have a car or a ride, you took the bus, that or walk for hours. So, I was walking. On my way a man drove up, new guy, offered me a ride. I cockly called out stranger danger to decline but no on was around.
"Clever," he said, "but I'm not planning to kidnap you." Today. We ended up chit-chatting all the way to the start of the block to my house. He was funny, and weird, and mature, and nice; but still a stranger. Now this isn't going to be, I thought I was in love bull crap, this was, I thought I was in danger and could trust him. See, he said he had people he knew in the suburbs where I lived, he wasn't kidding.
We kept bumping into each other, him and I, in the mall, shopping, the most random places. Turned out he was staying with a sick friend. Clue, clue, CLUE! Didn't get it though. Within a month or so, we became aquaintances. The distance was still there I assure you, but the trust was laying thick. I was 12, and hung out with older girls. I was the most popular in my middle school, moreso than my 13 year-old superiors, and I was a bitch about it. I decided to go to a club with my friends, I couldn't really pass for legal age, so I just shrunk behind a buff, tall guy, who was really cute and taken, to get in. I got bored in there pretty quick. If you don't really have a boyfriend with you then it's kind of pointless. The guys in there are losers who like older chicks, unless you're an old pervert; which, by the way, I happened to get hit on by. Luckily, I realized at that time how my friends had ditched me. His breath was garbage gross drunk, and he wouldn't leave me alone. Reaching for my hands and legs, gross. So I ran out. The club was in town and I hitched a ride with my friends who just ditched me, so I was left to walk 2 hours home. Lucky, he was just passing outside. I waved him down, and got in his car.
I haven't been home since.
"You, you, and you, come with me!" Two older girls and one my age went up. Like always the rest of us remained silent until he left and had an extra moment of silence for the girls that we know, will be suffering.
"Is this always how it happens?" I see Rebecca whispering inbetween two little nine year-olds.
"Yeah, you better get used to it too."
It seemed like forever, but the three of them finally came down.
"It's night, they finally went away..."
"How many were there this time?" I asked.
"Just two."
"I heard 'him' talking," It was one of the older ones. "He says that tomorrow at noon, we're all moving."
"What?!"
"Yeah, we're going to fly to Russia or something, I don't know, but I heard him say something like us being minors on a airplane. I think he'll be there too though."
"I don't think so, it seems too risky."
