Unfolding Moments

At my fathers house I see small bushes and trees of the same variety which were once at the house he lived at with my mother when they were still together.
Fences mark out his property line and I look to see if other houses have claimed their territory in the same manner. Perhaps they have trees. I look around, it is too dark to tell though I think, yes I do see pine tree markers.
I look at the fence again, it reminds me of the house my family used to live in when I was 4, after my mind began to remember memories. Mother had always forbade me from sitting on any of the fence posts because my father had done it years before, and the fence had snapped beneath him, leading to a nasty fall.
I'm sitting in the car, a faint glimmer of what I thought was a distant star has turned out to be a passing airplane in the sky. A man is ironing something on a board in the house directly in front of me. He has no shirt on, as well as no awareness that I am observing him pass the iron over his wrinkles.
The young man has left, but the airplane still hangs in the sky, flickering a distant red & blue.
