Delirious (21st July, 2010)
Slick, your dampened skin;
The taste of salt, of sweat;
I’ve made you want to forget
Her face; her curve; her breath… yes.
Taut, my body poised,
A welcome note to sin;
Uncurl and then re-begin:
I’m caught; I’m wet; I’m near… yes.
Fast, like cannon fire,
Slow as a laboured drum,
This is how things are done:
We rise; we fall; we tire… yes.
Halt, you see the sun?
The night has ebbed and flowed:
Not broken, and yet bowed,
You smile; I laugh; exalt… yes,
Lay, delirious
Here in your twisted sheets;
Shall I admit defeat?
I’m here; she’s not; you want… her.
Rise, I find my head,
Reluctant nakedness;
Light hurts, yes, I will confess:
I burn, I yearn; I’m spurned… I dress.
