You sing of a beautiful dawn
as I lay flat out
on the bed
resting, I stretch
and relax in thoughts
of weekend
adventures
You sing of a beautiful dawn
as I sit on the edge
of the bed
I put down my cup
it is empty
feelings anticipate
times ahead
You sing of a beautiful dawn
I get up and make a move
leave the room
with the words
drifting through
the door
left ajar...
I want to be there too
next summer
on your duvet
in the grass
to sing quietly
of our own
beautiful dawn.
