my writers block...

...is about six foot by eight foot, made of fine polished mahogany.
I'm not sure who made it, but they did a bloody good job; there probably isn't a finer writers block in this whole city, and that is saying something!
It works as a table, it works as a chair, hell, it even works as a foot rest! (Although that is not it's intended purpose; I'm not sure what is it's intended purpose, though...)
There is a small slot on the side -- maybe more of a slit than a slot (is there a difference?) -- and into this slit/slot go carrots (so the plaque says; I haven't tried anything else yet).
I know what you are thinking...
'Why would you put carrots in there?'
It is a fair question -- one of the good ones -- and there is no simple answer. All I can say is, 'How else would the rabbit get fed?'.
And now, perhaps, the more astute among you might be asking yourselves how anyone might come to have an -- approximately -- six by eight foot (by two foot high!) solid (and hollow) mahogany writer's block, which, somehow, has a rabbit (or other carrot eating animal) at it's center?
And to be honest: I do not know!
But what I do know is: is that if you cannot write, for whatever reason, and you put a carrot into that box (sliced, natch, to fit it through the slit/slot) you get the warm glow of probably having fed an animal.
Which, if you can't think of any words to write, is a nice feeling to have.
