Sadness engulfs me,
like a tornado, whirling;
dizzying my mind.
Tearing at my soul,
ripping out the golden vows,
like rusty rivets.
Shredding the contract,
that I never intended
to renege upon.
What now, is life worth,
when you can dismantle love
and cast it aside…
some error, to be learned from.
and then forgotten.
While the living proof,
the responsibility,
watches fearfully?
My heart is rendered
as I watch those pleading eyes,
beg me silently.
Was I a mistake,
Is it I, from whom you run;
am I not enough?
And I gently sob,
while kissing your sleeping face,
yes…you are enough!

Overwhelming sadness,
Overwhelming sadness, captured so well! I love to hate it!
