You never know what you've got
till you lost it
you never knew what you had
and you lost me
bitter and sharp like battery acid
as it ate through my heart
ignorance may be bliss
the disguised lies easing your mind
as the sour taste of your pre-emptive hurt
cut me out of your life.
you never gave your dreams a chance
never wanted to open up
lay bare your perfect self
never wanted anyone else
maybe another time
another place
another someone else
i should walk away
i know that i'm too good for you
not the other way round
failing, falling into insignificance is your next quest.
