A fast ball of fluff with sharp teeth and claws
tearing across the living room floor.
Then up the curtains and across the shelf,
ornaments wobbling; that's bad for their health!
Into the coal bucket, now what's new in there?
Balance on the sofa and pat my Lady's hair.
Belly crawl under the armchair, capture that bit of dust;
splash through my bowl of water, that's a kitten must.
Chew His workboot laces, that should cause a stir,
the peg I'll see to later...my life is such a whirl!
I think I'll have a nap right now, I'll curl up here by you,
I need a little sleep before I tackle my next 'to do'.
I'm awake now so pay attention, I need a fuss right now;
I love a cuddle on a woolly chest, my purr gets very loud.
Now where did that peg sneak off to? Under the table I think,
I'll hunt it out very soon my dear; but first I need a drink.
Hang on where's my tuna, in the jelly I love to lick?
I'll have a clean bowl as you're on your feet, the blue one, not the pink.
Being a kitten isn't easy to do; the rule book is very thick,
I'm doing my best to learn my role and find out what makes you tick.
I've learnt how to look appealing; I'm developing cute little ways,
I can dance with shadows and fluff with moves that leave you amazed.
I can sit on your shoulder and snuggle and then I'll purr in your ear.
I'll be your perfect cat if you wait; it'll take me about a year!
