Sudden Storm

Coming on suddenly, the
storm
Changes a dowdy street,
Lightening makes its skyline a
negative;
The road becomes a mirror
Shattered and re-shaped by the
rain;
Neon signs glow behind dirty
glass.
Such transient beauty seems
Wasted here, where all
Is second hand at best;
Like nature throwing off a
trick
Just because it can
