Tale of The Boy From Queens

Heard he grew up in Queens,
Took a bullet straight into his brain
All ‘cause he dug a step into fame,
Became a star and a household name
Record after record, he was livin’ the dream
Five platinum albums at just sixteen,
After night shows he’d go outside and visit the fans
They’d chant and scream his name,
Throwin’ roses and holdin’ out their hands,
The mother of this child didn’t have this in her plans
Day after day she’d worry for him,
Knowin’ one day they’d come lookin’ for him
Vivid visions of bullet wounds, all over his skin
Could this life of fortune and fame cover his sin?
One faithful night he stepped onto the stage,
A show in the Bahamas was on every front-page
He started to sing this new song he’d been workin’ on
Mother backstage, soon realised something was wrong,
There was cries, screams and teens all jumpin’ around
She looked at her boy; there he lay on the ground
She ran over to him and said “wake up son”
But there in his cranium was a wound from a gun
She screams out loud sayin’ “why didn’t you leave us alone”
Yet till this day the reason why he was killed is unknown
