QUESTIONS IN THE HOUSE 2011

The old man appeared in the room
Good for his years and yet pathetic
Attended by the younger man.
Who did it? the pair were asked.
Not us they replied.
We know nothing about criminal activity.

Who is responsible? Not us they said.
We are too big and the police were kind.

What about all those people whose lives you tried to wreck?
Not us. We are not like that.

What about the thousands whose phones you hacked?
Well, they asked for it - being celebrities, film stars and politicians.
(Pity about the murdered child!)

We are here to serve the public
To let them know how those folk live
(And to increase our circulation).

How do you live? they were asked.

Can't tell you that. We're untouchable!

These were the people who had held us all to ransom.

Perhaps there is a God after all.
