I may disappear tomorrow
so today I talk to God,
I press my hands together
and my skin filters wishes.
For years I've listened
to the silent cries of pain.
Now my words taste
the solace of sound.
This is not my native tongue,
my mouth shape-shifts
speaks a foreign language
for the first time.
My fingertips shine,
mother of pearl glow-sticks
flicker amongst the shadows.
Today, darkness is a breathe away.

"I may disappear tomorrow

- brilliant opening lines, Beeme. Love the imagery throughout and you end on a haunting, strong note.
