Month of August
It was in the month of August in a small town along the coast on the beach in California when I met this girl. She was 17 and I was 18… Right off we got along beautifully.
She was so cute and wonderful and a fun person just to talk to and be with. I just can't explain how my body feels when I'm near her and just looking into her eyes is beautiful.
It's been over 11 months since we've been going together and when we see each other which is pretty often we kid around with each other a lot. Like for instance when I would go see her we would walk down towards the beach with her arm around my waist near my belt at my back.
She would grab onto my underwear and pulled them up and yelled out,” Wedgie”.
We both bust out laughing, I chase her and when I got close to her I slap her gently on her behind and then she chases me, we would be laughing so hard we fall down onto the sand and just lay there laughing.
There was a special place that we would often walk up to. It was high upon a cliff overlooking the ocean. We would sit there holding each other's hands for long periods of time looking out over the ocean and just watching the beautiful waves coming up onto the beach.
Once a week we would have breakfasts together at a cute little restaurant, that was out on a pier near the boardwalk along the beach near where we both lived. We pretty much ordered the same thing each week, eggs sausage bacon and hash browns and toast. As we were both eating she said can I have a piece of your bacon, I said sure” can I have one of your sausages yes” suddenly she said but wait a minute who’s on first, I said what” then I looked up at the TV in the restaurant. It was playing an Abbott and Costello movie…… We both try to control our self from laughing out loud.
It was just so much fun being with her and I just loved her sense of humor.
We both had bicycles and we would ride them quite often up and down the boardwalk along the beach which was about a half mile long.
We would stop and go into the different stores along the way, this souvenir store that we stopped at quite often, she noticed a bracelet they had on sale that she really liked.
We both put what money we had together and purchased it. She was so happy she held on to my arm and hand so hard it just felt great, as we walked out of the shop to our bicycles and kissed, she said,” I love you.
A few months later at a fast food hotdog stand near the beach, she told me that she was going with her Mother and Father on a two-week trip up to Yosemite National Park before she goes off to college. I told her that would be great” but I wasn't sure how I was going to handle, being without her close to me for two weeks.
We hugged and held each other for a while and she told me they would be leaving in a few days, I didn't want to let go of her I just held her tightly against me. She said it's only for a few weeks I will miss you also very much, we will be back together very soon. I know, you go and have fun.
As the two weeks passed I could hardly wait just to see her once again the following day, I was up early and went right over to her parent’s home to see her.
As I was ringing the doorbell I could hardly stand still, I was so excited then suddenly the door open and she was standing there.
We rushed towards each other and kissed and held each other tightly. After a short while, I said as soon as you're ready I want to buy you breakfasts. Will go down to our little restaurant “you know the one, who's on first”
the one on the boardwalk.
We both started laughing.
Later on that day we walked way up to our special spot on the Cliff to sit and watch the ocean together. After a short while sitting there watching the ocean waves, she started telling me about her trip and how much fun she had with her Mother and Father and how she missed me so much.
It was fun just sitting there talking.
Two days later we were going to meet at the boardwalk, we were going to ride our bicycles down along it as we do every so often. I waited at our special spot that we usually meet at, after about hour. I went over to their house, her older brother that was in the house, seen me coming up the driveway. He ran out to onto the porch and yelled out to me, my sisters in the hospital she was hit by a car. He said she's at that new hospital a few blocks down on the left.
I was in such shock I stood there for a matter of seconds, then raced down there on my bicycle and ran into the emergency entrance. Asking about her they said she was crossing from the boardwalk, across the main Highway, when she was hit by a car that never stopped. I just broke down and fell apart the nurse said that she was down the hallway in room number nine, her parents are down there. As I turned and ran down the hallway to the room, the door was partially opened.
I looked in past her parents standing there near her bed. The Doctor was slowly pulling the sheet up over her face. I yelled out, no” no” and fell on the floor crying no please don't take her.
Later I was out in the hallway sitting in a chair trying to get myself together, when her Father came up to me and said she wanted you to have this bracelet……The End
