My head is wild with
mustangs storming
over prairie grass
I hang by fingertips
Nails cutting into flesh
I try to tread the path
walk the walk
Stumble
never fall
Couldn't stand
the embarrassment
Couldn't stand at all
This isn't me
Whose God is this?
Not mine
I didn't subscribe
but got the ticket anyway
The luxury of burning
beyond imagination
in obituaries
A source of fascination
You can't imagine life
Fiction is
a parody of fact
What was I doing
before I was born?
Just a thread
The scene before the act
A surge of something
indescribable
There's the rub
Nothing for your head
For God's sake
don't teach this shit
in schools
Caring is for fools

Really enjoyed this, Parson. Loved that opening stanza, and as Tina said, much food for thought indeed :)
