“I think I found the sun the other night."
Teddy turned to me, then forced a smile.
“It was magical. Billions of colorful shards, stretching across the skyline."
His eyes skittered. He knew it was ridiculous. We were dead sailors, swallowed by a tempest.
Stuck in Davy Jones' locker.
I heard something and tugged Teddy close. The locker door swung open, disclosing a janitor, whose lips were parted.
I pushed passed him, ashamed, and ran down the dim, vacant hallway. I held my teddy bear's hand, blinking back tears.

Loved the first line of this. I'm not one for very short stories, always feel they give you far too little for any sort of attachment, and I kind of have the same issue here, but not enough to really detract.
The twist towards the end was both endearing and heartbreaking. Well done.
Give me the beat boys and free my soul! I wanna getta lost in ya rock n' roll and drift away. Drift away...
