Life As A Doll

I’m your property,
You think, looking at me.
I’m your droid,
You’re a child with a toy.
Play and have your fun,
Stuff me in a box when it’s done.
I must stay the same,
Because plastic doesn’t change.
You’ll forget me for weeks,
I must be where you last put me.
I have no choice,
Ha! Dolls don’t have a voice.
Throw a hissy fit,
When someone else plays for a bit.
What else can you do?
They tried to take your joy from you.
I’ll be complacent,
Dead-eyed through the plastic.
Still, a smile on my face,
As I take my permanent place.
