1st Verse:
It’s lovely wintry weather;
snowflakes float down like feathers;
the sun’s bobbed up to say “Hulloo!”;
the sky is robin’s egg shell blue;
and robins chirp on branches too.
It’s a lovely winter day.
2nd Verse:
The world’s white as a wedding;
snow covers all like bedding;
it lies about in thick white piles;
drapes branches; drips from roof top tiles
but still its chill can’t stop the smiles.
It’s a lovely winter day.
Chorus:
And soon it’s going to be
that special time of year;
a time of Peace on Earth;
of love, goodwill and cheer.
When carol singers sing;
we kiss ‘neath mistletoes
there are gifts under the tree
and little children’s faces glow.
3rd Verse:
Fir trees with needles of green
dressed in snow look so serene
and glossy green leaves of holly
with red berries make me jolly
make me feel like saying, ‘Golly,
it’s a lovely winter day’.
4th Verse:
Though it is cold and freezing
and some coughing and sneezing;
jack frost nipping at your nosey
at least your cheeks are all rosy
and you’re wrapped up warm and cosy
on this lovely winter day.
Chorus:
And soon it’s going to be
that special time of year;
a time of Peace on Earth;
of love, goodwill and cheer.
When carol singers sing;
we kiss ‘neath mistletoes
there are gifts under the tree
and little children’s faces glow.
