To win the Games

To win the game,
I kill and maim
Hack, cut, stab;
Swivel, duck, jab.
Taken form my home up high
A wife to scream a sad goodbye
Two young babes, a final cry
Unknown to them, soon to die.
Just like cattle herded away,
I boil with vengeance till the day,
To make a murderer sorely pay
I will walk on without delay.
Training in battle has no strife
Relax and listen to a blind man’s fife
I learn to use and wield a knife
And embrace dearly my new life.
Never forget the pain of my loss,
My life in the balance of a coin toss
My enemy and I only one to survive,
The stadium beautiful and so alive
People like bees around a hive.
A murdering king sat on throne
His life will I make my own
A life for a life, his debt to pay
These are the words I to him say.
I kill the opponent before me now
Sweat and blood upon my brow
While his blood pools do I go,
To kill a man I once did know.
It was a dark and ice cold night
As if looked on a ghost, screamed in fright,
Vengeance urged me on to fight,
Taking his life was my only right
On to trial for treason I strode,
Along the dark and narrow road
Only a promised land did I behold.
