Night full of day

Stars glow like little pieces of the sun
waiting to be assembled into day;
in the night is the day that has not yet begun;
like my heart, it must escape darkness some way.

Stars shine like opportunities;
like shining hopes and dreams in infants eyes;
yesterday is shattered; scattered; dust and memories
but I can see gold in the new sunrise.

Stars gleam like all the tears that I have shed
but they cannot hang for all eternity;
the Sun and I must rise up from our beds
and make Tomorrow just as bright as it can be.
