Mother of the rain the blue sky split in two
and suddenly it came , in a rainbow hue .

Mother of the rain there was no where to hide
and the flowers began to dance where they’d died .

Mother of the rain the drought stopped suddenly
and the effect of the rain was clear to see .

Mother of the rain waterfalls fell again into pools
where ripples of sunlight became
reflections of heaven that had long gone dry
but the drought was broken
by rain from the sky .
