is upon my mind. Oh
that I may talk and
laugh and walk again.
A mantra shouted
for a time and he was
successful with
the first two.
MS has emasculated
him—friend to me
lover to his wife
father to some
and a grandfather
where all agree kids
enjoy his buoyant
natural charm.
My wife and I
are going to share
a meal with our
dear friends. One
breathless in her
excitement for our
visit – the other
breathless
from porch’s climb.
He was a foster parent
a road plow man
and driver for a wife
bringing home
the bacon – his
pension not good
enough to carry
the bills.
No matter – he's
our precious friend.
