In Other Words

It's as if your eyes
Are a painted sign
There for all the world to see
The end of the line
But it's just me who reads
What have I been fighting for?
In other words
You don;t love me anymore
It's as if your voice
Were a warning call
For a child who plays
On the ruins of a wall
And I'm about to fall
Head first for the floor
In other words
You don't love me anymore
Niether one of us can say it
Not even write it down
Don't make it harder than it is
For when I hit the ground
Though I might long to
I won't come back for more
If you tell me now
You don't love me anymore
It's as if your posture
Was a piece of verse
That shifts with the volta
And moves from bad to worse
Through which I walked into your life
Now your showing me again that door
In other words
You don't love me anymore
It's as if my tears of sorrow and defeat
Were a tattered white flag
Waving from a window of a bombed out street
And though this ceasefire isn't
Recognised in a court of law
It's plain to see that you don't love me anymore
