The Lake full of stars (Deleted stories)

The lake was like a looking glass
for twilight’s twinkle freckled face;
over its surface showered past
the shooting stars of deepest space.

And mirroring their shining grace;
the swan, that bird of noble class,
seemed to swim with them, keeping pace
till, sadly, the shore, they surpassed.

Then, peering from between the stars,
a carp popped up to take a look
worshipping Pisces from afar
till caught on the moons crescent hook.

But then a frog, a great leap, took
and his splash was spectacular
for suddenly all Heaven shook;
Venus colliding into Mars.
