Misconceptions (revised)

Today is full of rain
grass is happy
and so are the dew worms
it has been a cold winter
and they are anxious to be about
robins are waiting
to see their bobbing heads.

My lawn mower
needs a little tune-up
it too has a place
under the sun –

now I sit in the shade
a grin on my face
can’t wait to trick
those mower blades

‘cause I do not like
to disturb the dandelions
they’re the only
colour upon the green.
