old images , once vivid

are now trapped beneath a mask

it's robbed you of the sun

in which you used to sit and bask

your fingers lost all feeling

losing things that they once clutched

these are memories, untouched

the mind has many corners

where the spiders run to hide

they weave a web around themselves

and cuddle up inside

you think if you're not careful

in the same lair, you will climb
