Monkey and mercy
P K Routray
From monkey the man
over a long time span
Darwin’s logical creation
man is the improved version.
Vanished the tail and hair
and organs required rare.
Ugly with time turns beauty
suaveness comes from nasty.
Perhaps Darwin’s logic
but contrary, the above pictures speak.
Monkey teaches man the mercy
which perhaps Darwin could not foresee.
(It is a true story Two blind persons wanted to drink water at Ragigauda temple Bangalore Jndia. When they were unable to open the tap, a monkey opened the tap and allowed them to drink. After they drank, the monkey drank some water herself and closed the tap before leaving the scene. )

Nice piece, PK. Reminds me of that clip of the gorilla guarding the little boy who fell in the enclosure.
