does a stomach growl when hungry ?
maybe anger or despair ?
does this organ play a song
that cries some grub should be down there ?
when critters in a zoo
believe it should be feeding time
they all begin to bellow
not to sate them, is a crime
an event called peristalsis
will occur when you eat food
then gas and air make noises
when some squeezing sets the mood
but you can stop this rumbling
sending food into your bowels
like wrapping tumbling tennis shoes
in dryers with thick towels
but why are there contractions
when no food is left unchurned ?
a hormone tells your puzzed brain
a meal should now be yearned
the stomach starts to quiver
and your hunger starts to grow
for ten to twenty minutes
every hour, don't you know
then you must feed this monster
till it's satisfied, but then
you'll find the whole darn process
just repeats itself again
