HE SAID, SHE SAID
The songs that saved your life
They won't save you anymore
They just hurt -
The songs that gave you life
They won't save you anymore
They only romance you and remind you of the despair that you fear will always be there
He said she said;
Am I life's ironic joke or young loves long lost hope?
I think he's just simply dead instead
And all the nice new clothes wont bring those you chose in last nights dream - to wake you
The songs that once saved you
They won't save you anymore
They won't be there for you no more no, no, no
And she said he said;
It won't ignite the light that should be in your eyes tonight
I think he's just dead instead
And the nice new clothes you chose will not bring those in last nights dream, to love you
You don't tell your friends
You just pretend
For heavens sake - the mixed message it sends
And your heart is forever condemned to pretend that it's still alive -
All the romantic notions won't dispel the love lorn emotions
I can't share you and I can't choose between you
Because we were more perfect than the dream that never came true
But I was always true I was always true
In my own weird way I was always true to you
IT'S BEEN TOO LONG
Oh, friends and family
I can no longer pine over the dreams that will never be mine -
Oh, friends and foes
I can feel the itch and the scratch from the tag on the end of my toe -
The cold room I dread is home to the empty bed that will be half empty in a while . . .
Young friends
I can no longer pretend or deny
That being happy and lonely is an unhappy lie . . .
Oh, Mam oh, Dad
There are times when I die inside
Knowing I've never loved the way you two have . . . (The way you used to, anyway)
The miss-haps and the miss steps
And all those loveless concepts
Drag you down to where night swallows day
Oh the loveless concepts drag you down down oh . . .
And the songs that saved your life
They won't save you anymore
I long to be touched
Well, no such luck
It's too long it's too long
It's just been too long
The comfort of solitude
Oh, friends, family, foes anyone anyone just anyone, anyone, anyone now
You pass and you laugh
And I just wish you would've smiled though I may walk these streets alone I have always walked them in style
And yes I know it's no substitute when the hope inside is hopeless and the warmth so destitute
The graveyard sings
The most beautiful songs
Is it where I belong?
Oh, but don't we all!
As the noose tightens
I become enlightened
The release at the end
And oh, the message it sends -
"You should have called
You should have said
We just never knew we never knew That the hope inside of you was so dead"
Oh, friends, family, foes anyone anyone just anyone, now
It's too long it's too long
It's been way too long now
Oh, I may be destined to walk these streets alone but I shall always walk them - regardless of style
Why is it so easy to fall in the night? Yet so hard to rise the next day?
It's too late it's too long it's too late it's been too long so its too late its too late its too late is it too late now?
Oh, you can only laugh
Oh, oh . . . Hahah
A WONDERFUL LIE
The end of love, but not the end of the world
Farewell sins of the flesh
Oh, the love is gone but the pain remains and the scars in me are still fresh.
Love or lust?
We were doomed to fail
The absence of trust
Leaves only betrayal
We lived a wonderful lie
As we once walked side by side
Oh, but never hand in hand
Because the people would always
Ask why
We must be sick
We must be infected
We must be diseased
And now -
There's frost on the bed
Where you once lay
How can this be a home
When it feels like a grave
We lived a wonderful lie
As we once walked side by side
Oh, but never hand in hand
Because the good people they would spit in our eye
We must be sick
We must be infected
We must be diseased
Now the living room is so empty
Oh , the house it feels so empty
But maybe I'm better off
Yes maybe I'm better off
Maybe I'm just better
STAR CROSSED DRESSERS
Well I suppose
We could wear each others clothes
Yours in mine, mine in yours
Now would you kindly get down
On all fours?
Curled in each others arms
Her fingers read my palms
She said - my palm bled
Oh. This madness is all in
Your head!
" oh, it's not in my head"
It happened all too soon
Over Zealous bride and groom
As she left she cried
" we'll end up in a shoddy house by the countryside "
(A house in the countries backside)
Well I suppose
We could wear each others clothes
Yours in mine, mine in yours
Now who will kindly get down
On all fours?
A warm loving pose
We neglected all of our clothes
On the bed hers eyes
Led my head between her thighs
Curled in each others arms
Her fingers read my palms
She said - my palm bled
Oh. This madness is all in
Your head!
" oh, it's not in my head"
It happened all too soon
Over Zealous bride and groom
As she left I sighed
" we could have a lovely house by the countryside "
(A house in the countries backside)
She said - "it isn't fair mine don't even fit"
And left lipstick marks on my underwear
(You had such lovely underwear)
We used to make love
But now we just have sex
We used to make love
But now we just have sex
Now its just
