Back into the silence

So we're back
here in the familiar cocoon
of our enemy Silence, caught
unwilling in its frostiness
under full summer's glare
I strain to hear
my muted, muffled lovesong
flap, flail piteous
scratching weakling against
the iron clad portal of
your wilful indetermination
How long must I lie
cryogenically unconsoled
in wait of sorrow's devouring
solitary, insignificant insect
in the ice encrusted web
of your heart's winter holly?
