SLIPSHOD

i find that i'm now slipshod
but that's not bad as it seems
for lately i've met someone
who's the answer to my dreams

i've found that i'm now careless
but don't look at me so hard
i only mean i'm free at last
by letting down my guard

perhaps you'd call me slipshoe
through the years i have been laced
so carefully i trod
and watched just where my foot was placed

i've ripped these burdens from my feet
now easy to discard
and find i'm running circles
through the daisies in my yard

who cares if i'm untidy ?
i'm embracing mother earth
it's you who gave that gift to me
and showed me what i'm worth

so yes, please call me slipshod
i'm in heaven, can't you see ?
and you're the lovely person
running barefoot next to me
