TRAITS

when lovers think alike
they wonder if that's good or bad
they share the love of certain things
and share what makes them sad

the traits that someone has
when ones in which we should aspire
when seen in someone else
is just like child's play to admire

but when a trait is weak
and they're not things in which you're proud
when seen in someone else
it's often seen as not allowed

it makes a person question
what bad traits they might possess
and sometimes when discovered
it can leave one in distress

when looking at a mirror
we will minimize our flaws
but if another person
then it seems to break the laws

you and i are on a wavelength
that's so often seems to touch
that's one of many reasons
that i love you oh so much

i see yourself inside of me
and me inside of you
it pulls us close together
and allows us to get through
