Submerged beneath the sheets
thread-bare dreams sleep
Two, dissonant heart beats
buried skin deep
fibrillate, as the clock skips,
skirting hands throttle prime
artery, composite drips
Shorter breaths lung walls climb,
pairing, before sentient streams
can the muddied channel surge
Rabid eyelids, fluttering screams;
past vistas with dark clouds merge
Velvet seams in top sheet worn,
in fading color, with exposed threads
In the quilted fabric, hearts torn,
on top, fragile minds, naked spreads
