i wanna fall in love at Shudehill

i wanna fall in love at Shudehill
this place, tastes like the end
of the line,
even the pigeons are choosy here.
this place, where
the Christmas lights don’t shine.
this boomerang interchange
keeps calling me now,
flinging childhood spit
over icy railings,
we hope to reach Thorniley Brow.
i wanna watch the light fail here,
as the ending sun bombs the city.
furious crimson napalm
shivering into the drains
as this city catches night fire.
embracing a spiced Christmas coffee,
we become heart shaped at our edge.
as you lean into me,
that upward glance between lashes
feels like falling from a ledge.
and as the city rocks back and forth
in a coldness quiver, our hearts
together in shared light, bring change
out from the interchange,
as love spreads out across Shudehill.
