The Girl Who Could See Things

She grew up in a small room with eleven others in her family . Well she always thought there were eleven but in fact there were only ten as when she was about ten years old she was told by an angel that no one else could see him but her .

From that day Brenda never told anybody about her special friend ,

 

At this point in her life she started attending one of the slum schools in Calcutta where conflict and chaos accompanied her everyday as she walked through the muddy streets to the little hut where she started to read and write long before any of the others there .

 

Brenda had the ability to absorb and translate information with no effort , She was able to answer very difficult questions without having to study hard .

 

The thing was she had a helped that no one could see . It wasn’t long before  Brenda was regarded as a genius and she soon gained the interest of some benefactors who wanted to fund her education in Australia .

 

At the age of seventeen Brenda was encouraged to study Medicine and went to an Australian University in Wollongong . Her first requirement there was to pass an

IELTS exam that would gain her access to do a Bachelor Of Medicine course in another University in Australia .

 

One rainy Saturday , far from the streets of Calcutta Brenda sat inside Building 30 at the University Of Wollongong awaiting to register for the IELTS Test .

She sat looking out the windows  at the scattered evergreens between the red brick buildings around the Ring Road that encompassed the perimeters of Wollongong University . 

 

A tall beared man stepped out form the main office and shattered the silence with a harsh Australian accent .

“ The bag room is now open for anyone who needs to leave their personal belongings for there are no mobile phones or ipads allowed in the examination room  .‘

 

The angel beside Brenda laughed as Brenda had nothing with her but her passport a few pens , her genius and of course her very close companion in life who no one could ever see .

The automatic door at the entrance of building 30 opened up every twenty seconds with a stream of people arriving to do the test . Brenda sat and watched the passing parade of IELTS entrants male their way to the bag room  . There were  Arabs and Jews , Indians and a few Africans but the majority of the people taking the test were Asians , Most of them were under twenty five and they all spoke different languages  .  The one thing in common they all had was the need to gain access to other institutions with a pass in their English Exam .

Brenda followed the crowd as they made their way up the stairs to the examination room . When she arrived at the room she took a seat by a window and looked at the droplets of rain that sat motionless on the window pane of the second floor room in Building 30 . The droplets of rain were unable to trickle away and she remembered how in the past she couldn’t cry after all the floggings she received and then she almost felt again the flies walking all over her skin as she lay on the floor of the squalor that always stank faeces and urine . That is the room where she and eight of her siblings grew up .

Suddenly the sound of a voice   brough her back to reality .

 

“I’d like to welcome everyone this morning for the IELTS exam . There will be no talking during the test .”

 

The angel beside Brenda interrupted and said ,

 

“Except for me that is . “

 

Brenda laughed and a few people looked at her with a quizzed look on their face .

 

The person in charge began to hand out all the exam papers and once they were all handed out a time check was given before saying ,

 

“The test starts at 9 and finishes at midday . You can begin now .“

 

When Brenda was 6 years old she had the ability to speed read and comprehend  everything without any effort .

 

Brenda quickly had finished the exam and sat looking out the window at the trees and surrounding environment . Eventually everyone finished the IELTS test and were allowed to leave the room .

 

Two weeks later Brenda got the results and was awarded the highest marks on records since the IELTS examinations had began .

So impressive was her papers that many people wanted to meet and greet this person who was fast becoming the talk of the academic world .

 

Brenda had put all her dreams on hold and when time would allow it she would set out to capture the vision of finding the cures to things like Dementia and Cancer and HIV . She never know how it would happen but she did have a vision that it would .

 

Three years later after Brenda achieved distinctions in her Bachelor of Medicine course she continued to attract the attention of many in academia .

She soon furthered her studies and it wasn’t long before Brenda was a professor and began to speak at conferences about the need to provide cures for terminal conditions .

 

One afternoon after giving a three hour lecture in Sydney Brenda’s angel took her to a place and explained that soon she would begin to build hospitals for the dying .

These Hope Hospitals would be only for the dying , young and old .She was told that she would receive the graces to heal many and that she was not to be concerned about how any of this would happen . Brenda had so many questions but each time one would arise an answer would come immediately into her subconscious mind putting all her enquiries to rest  .

 

On another day Brenda was taken by the angel to a forest and she was told that the answers she needed were all around her .

 

Brenda asked ,

“Can you show me ?”

 

The angel began said ,

“Look at the leaves of the tress and the nuts and the berries that I will show you . Then he showed her wild flowers and plants and said ,

 

“The cures to Dementia and cancer and all the other conditions that you are concerned about are within your reach .“

 

Brenda replied

“Open my eyes .Let me see .”

 

Brenda had a vision of laboratories and the processes of breaking down certain chemicals with cell structures of plants and berries , In her mind she saw a blackboard and on it there was a map that pointed the way she had to go to achieve the result she had to find . She had been given the power and the knowledge she needed to construct new medicines .

It was clear to her what she had to do . She could see the signposts and knew how to get there .

 

She began to speak to large gatherings of interested people involved with alternative approaches to health and aging . It wasn’t long before she was given financial assistance for her research work .

 

Within a year she had collected all of the things the angel had shown her in the forest and had documented teach process of formulating the medicines she created .

All the experiments with mice were successful and it was now time to try the drugs on humans ,

The dream had become real .  Positive results had been achieved with a chemical replacement to the brain that dementia condition had depleted enabling those with dementia to have a restoration to the balance and regrown of brain cells and tissues .

 

All over the world hospitals for the dying were being built a future without terminal illness was now in sight .
