Remember Sid and Joan the old couple down the road
oh then had fun
yes they did
he work in his garden
keeping it a tidy as can be
and Joan she sit outside
with a cup of tea
and hard copy of women own
blowing in the breeze
she fall asleep
and Sid
would
gently take it out of her hand
and put a blanket over her
so when she wake up
she would not feel cold
they always had a smile on there faces
say hi to passer by
and at the setting of the sun
when the day was done
they pack up and go inside
and have there tea
and talk about how they day had been
and then at ten o'clock you see
the bed light gone off
I think they once had a son
and a daughter
but she live far away
there son was young
and full of life
but one terrible
winter night
he car went off the road
they rush up to the hospial
but It was too late
he had already pass away
I hear they held each other
tight saying it hurts
but it will be alright
oh that was some years ago
time goes fast
so very fast
and before we know it
we are old
and our bone hurt even in the sun
but for Sid and Joan
they never lost
the love they had
they
kept on smiling
I remember at Christmas time
they say come over
and have some Christmas cake
and some Christmas cheer
they were always in there garden always
but as time went on
it got hard for them to move
then one day
they had to leave
the stair got to much for them you see
they move in with there daughter
Christmas cards we exchanged and we remember about the old days
and then one day
a letter came
from there daughter
to say that they gone into a home
it was so hard
for her to do
but they were happy
she said still smiling
years went by
and a another
letter came
to say that
they had died
it was so sad
but then I remember
when I walk pass and they say hi to me
Sid and Joan
and now happy family are in there home once again
and looking after the garden and sitting in the garden
just like Sid and Joan
