Left the Pool.
Its barely cold, and outside the window
the robin pccks up the worm in quick bites.
Its almost too cold to think.
Almost. Only the remainder
keeps it's beat at the heart.
Matter. Matter. Who can say
Where we began. In the primordial pool
man crept up the edge, out of the water.
Insects buzzed. Flowers raised large heads;
the jungle was lush. Undergrowth and trees.
The early birds beat their giant leather wings as they pass away.
Time writes Bedes upon the wall. The Wars bleed mighty holes,
and suddenly we live, ants on the tip of a rusty nail.
To feed birds, shrunken, and friendly to worms cut up
stuck in candy. Modern life has consquences. We warn
between sizes, cut off from the arena of beyond the garden gate.
Its been a long time since Janet saw Spot. John hid the ball.
The headmaster left. We had left. The area became a distant memory.
The School Inspector had famous shoes. The ford was dried up.
.
Now the heating is on. John & Janet went outside the gate to find Spot.
Thought has resumed. The birds consumed the candysplit worms.
I'm glad overall we left the primordial pool. Arn't you?
