vagary

I am lost: caught amid these fast floating ships;
caught by the sail of this wild winds command ,
tied: yet unbound to an inevitable destination.
Their black masts stand fast on this pale aching sky
They are so tall and free, unburdened misery
Determined to take me upon a lone sacred path
To a distant misty place that I know not where.
I am caught in their vagary
Displaced by their ever haunting
Imagery.
The seas like mountains roll,
I fly on their ripped skin
But I cannot see therein.
And there lies the nub.

Hi there,
Hi there,
I don't know much about poetry, I have to admit, but I liked the alliteration that you have in the first few lines, and the way the structure changes as you progress through.
I fly on their ripped skin - this line is wonderful, and the feeling that you are being tossed and turned and taken along by the current, a simile for life, I felt.
I really enjoyed reading this :D Karen
