i'd like to stop there, but it is something i think about. i am a disciple of Theognis of Megara, who was a sicilian philosopher. theognis said that we should be like octopuses. don't disagree with what your professor or opponent is saying. imitate him or her and try to figure out what system of thought he or she comes from. give deep thought to what the enemy or friend is saying from their context.

once you are able to figure out what the enemy or friend's system of thought is, you can overturn the system of thought or improve it if you like it. serious deep thinkers have a system that balances personal and public concerns.
