Star Ocean

I am casting my eye into the azure ocean, swarming
with nature's Mona Lisas, to reel in
a shooting star
I wonder if you're doing the same

I'll catch your favorite planet from the lakewaters
for your birthday present but
I can't fix broken promises, see

I'm just hanging onto something within my grasp
you want to breath in the cradle of stars
fondle them in your arms
but I can only give you a boat ride in a celestial river.
