Transformation (I.P.)

All has been revealed
now that the die is cast.
Humans are obsolete
and part of the past.
Inflatable replicas
will instead be used
with penises and vaginas
so we don’t get confused.
I’ve seen many summers
arrive and then depart
when Ann’s paraphernalia
titillated our heart
Of the recent existence
there won’t be any trace;
once changes occur
it will be a new race.
Clones or carbon copies,
call them what you will.
There won’t be any need
for the morning-after pill
as sex will not take place
according to the norm
but intercourse will happen
only in a virtual form.
The world as we knew it
we will never regain
and it wouldn’t do any good
going down memory lane.

Brilliantly penned, Luigi, as
Brilliantly penned, Luigi, as ever, and, sadly, I can see things going this way, too.
Loved the illustration, by the way.

'As for living, our machines
'As for living, our machines can do it for us' Hugh Macdiarmuid (from one of his longer poems can't recall which).
Nicely dystopian and nostalgic before disaster hits. Elsie

A very imaginative take Luigi - I know this week was a hard one and I'm glad it's pushed you to get creative. Funny and spot-on, you combine poetry with a bit of dystopia. Great stuff!

Hi Luigi,
Hi Luigi,
It was interesting to read this, if quite a frightening prediction. I hope with all my heart this isn't the way life will progress, but thanks for sharing.
