1.
A wandering minstrel am I;
my only roof is the open sky;
my home, the road that I travel on
as, merrily, I sing minstrel songs.
2.
My friends, the little birds that go tweet
and all the smiling faces I meet.
Please, just pay me a penny and I’ll
sing a song I know will make you smile.
Chorus:
I’ll sing you a song
of love and romance
or play a spritely melody
for you and me to dance.
I’ll sing you a song
to brighten your day
and when I’ve sung a song or two
then I’ll be on my way.
3.
A wandering minstrel am I.
Good people wave as I’m going by,
plunking pretty tunes upon my lute;
all dressed up in my bright patchwork suit.
4.
And the other bright thing that I wear
is a great big smile full of good cheer
for it gives me such pleasure to bring
happiness with the songs that I sing
Chorus:
I’ll sing you a song
of love and romance
or play a spritely melody
for you and me to dance.
I’ll sing you a song
to brighten your day
and when I’ve sung a song or two
then I’ll be on my way.

This is so magical and
This is so magical and reminds me of a bearded man who plays the flute in our town. He wears jesters clothes that are so bright and cheerful and carries little tamborines in a basket for children to play.
I can't help but stand and listen to his Minstrel music. Your poem could have been written for him.
Beautifully done and very much enjoyed the read.
Jenny.
