The Scapegoat Part – Six.

So we are at our favourite car boot in the world, everything was fantastic when my mobile phone rang it was our young Daughter Meghan, she said four police had just come into the house and they had taken Daniel away with them to the station!!! I asked, "What for," she didn’t know, I asked, "Which police station they had taken him to?" She didn’t know! We were frantic with worry! Are they allowed to do that!? Go into a house with two children alone inside? And take one?

My mobile rang again a short time later, it was a police woman, she explained, "Daniel had been arrested for suspected theft of a mobile phone, that had been taken the day before," She wanted me or Paul to come now to the station, I told her that I was, "At a car boot!!!" She asked, "When would it finish?" I said, "Around 3pm." She asked if it was, "OK if someone for Children’s Services sat with Daniel?" I said, "That would be fine!"

I told Paul what she said; our morning was ruined now! Because of them! Then 10 minutes later my mobile rang again, it was the same policewoman, she said, "I have to come now to the police station!" I told her that, "I wouldn’t be able to, as we were in the middle of a car boot field and we were all packed in like sardines, and even if she told me I’d won a million pounds, I still wouldn’t be able to leave the field! Unless I walked, and that would take hours and hours to get back!" I was very annoyed, at the police!!!

We didn’t stay until 3pm or hearts were not in it! And we came home earlier than planned, but by the time we got home, Daniel was home too, the police dropped him off home. We had arrived home the same time as Daniel. So why had he been arrested? The police quickly explained to us, and it was clear to the policeman that we were talking to, that Daniel was (again) innocent.

In the house Daniel explained what had happened. "A (stupid girl) in my class at school, after school a group of us were relaxing in a field enjoying the sun, she lost her mobile phone, and didn’t want to tell her Mum for it was new and very expensive, so she made up a story to say me and Noah had taken it, she had seen us take it from her bag, and she had asked us for it back, but we had ran off laughing!"

I asked Daniel what had happened. He said, "He, Noah and Steve were asleep on the field and that everyone there were all witnesses to this fact." He’d also told the police at the station that if they had taken it, their DNA and fingerprints would have been on her bag, Daniel asked the police to check this, they did and only her prints were on her bag!

Eventually she told the police she had lied! And that she was frightened what her Mum would say! I was livid with her!!! Daniel also told us that when the police went into Noah’s bedroom to arrest him, he was naked in bed! They turned their backs as he got dressed! I would have sued them! In fact I wanted to sue them for arresting Daniel on the word of her!! I wanted to sue them for his wrongful arrest, but I didn’t want to jeopardise his court case that was due in a few weeks!! I’d sue her later for defamatory of name!!

So now he was not allowed to talk to her that was his new ‘curfew’ rule! The idiot refused to come back to school for weeks, for she knew everyone at school was talking about it!! One day she will cry wolf, one time too many and then she won’t be believed!!

Paul and I wanted her to be fined! But she didn’t even get that! It’s SO unfair!! She was just cautioned, what sort of a lesson is that! If she can lie at 15 what can she lie about at 25?

Finally the day arrived! Court Day! Again I said to Daniel when we had a moment alone in the room, I asked him if he was nervous, I informed him I’d committed him to God, and that I wished him all the very best.....
