recently, i bought your latest

Reigning Sound album, Shattered;

and, it’s fast become, something

that really matters to me;

using it to prise the sunrise,

out of Manchester.

the Parting Gifts,

was already a sound, that fit,

with me, and has been played

many a time around.

having spent a lot of money on break-up wine,

in the last month or so, a familiar place

I hadn’t planned to go, but

like shivering under a bridge with a crooked cigarette;

not an unfamiliar feeling though.

i find myself, now,

ravenous for Oblivians

and Reigning Sound.

but broke,

and broken, i am left ripping your music off YouTube,

which i’m kinda sorry about.

so, i guess i owe you, like $20.

i’ll make it up to you; i’ll probably buy,

much more of the stuff, you do.

i reckon, that these words 

of mine, slipped loose

though a smoky morning

and velvet wine,

are probably worth about $5.

so shall we call it $15?
